Groundwater Management - Mallee Prescribed Wells
The SA MDB NRM Board has established a program of works to manage the groundwater resources in the Mallee Prescribed Wells Area. These programs are as follows and are administered through the levy on water licences.
Cost-Sharing Arrangements
A cost sharing arrangement is operating in the Mallee Prescribed Wells Area to assist owners of stock and domestic bores who have been affected by Irrigation Drawdown. For information on how the arrangement applies and the application form, please download the following document.

Annual Water Use
An Annual Water Use report is compiled each year in the Mallee Prescribed Wells Area to capture information on water use by licence holders including the crops or industry the water has been used for, location of water use and to provide general information on irrigation, intensive farming, town water supply and industrial water use in the Mallee. Information is provided each year by water Licence holders, by completing an annual water use report form by the end of June each year.

Monitor and Model
Do we know what is happening with the groundwater resource in the Mallee?
The SA MDB NRM Board work closely with the Department of Water, Land and Biodiversity Conservation (DWLBC), to monitor the resource by regularly measuring groundwater levels in bores and taking salinity samples. More detailed information on groundwater levels and salinity in the Mallee and across the state can be found at https://info.pir.sa.gov.au/des/desHome.html
