  • Accredited Soil Surveyor for Horticultural Management

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of the Improving Irrigation Efficiency Project (IIEP) and provision of technical support to irrigators.
  • Chair project steering committee
  • Facilitate on-ground works of field officers under the IIEP Maintain partnerships with CIT, RIT and LAP groups
  • Delivery of irrigation management workshops
  • Coordinate and help deliver:
    • Floating flag test well program
    • Soil surveying program Irrigation system assessments
    • Soil moisture monitoring trial sites
    • On-farm support for irrigators Assist in the running and maintenance of the
  • Automatic Weather Station Monitoring Network (AWMN)
  • Assist community groups and Local Action Planning groups with IIEP presentations
  • Development and delivery of improving water use efficiency (WUE) Education material to various schools in SA

  • Liaison and Assist CIT’s Customers
  • Update Crop Surveys in CIT districts using Arc GIS
  • Assist in the delivery of:
    • Irrigation efficiency workshops
    • Floating flag test well program
    • Soil surveying program
    • Irrigation system assessments
  • Assist in the running and maintenance of the Automatic Weather Station Monitoring Network (AWMN) Promote the IIEP within CIT’s grower base
