The project employs
Field Officers to provide on-farm support to irrigators who have
attended any of the irrigation management courses and need assistance
applying what they have learned to their property. Field Officers
provide assistance on a range of issues such as:
- Soil identification and crop suitability
- Locating suitable sites to install floating flags
- Improving irrigation system efficiency
- Applying irrigation management practices
- Managing problem sites
- Pump efficiency
- Soil moisture monitoring equipment
- Soil management
- Fertiliser application and timing fertigation
