Wetland Management Plans

Wetland Management Plans have been developed for a number of community managed wetlands along the River Murray in South Australia.

These Wetland Management Plans were written in cooperation with the River Murray Local Action Planning Groups, wetland community groups, South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board and other key stakeholders.

The Plans help community groups to actively manage the flooding and drying of their local wetlands, and also describe the social and ecological values of these important ecosystems.

A list of the completed Wetland Management Plans and a list of the Management Plans that are under development are provided below.

The Wetland Management Plans have been prepared according to the Guidelines for Developing Wetland Management Plans for the River Murray and therefore fulfil obligations under the Water Allocation Plan for the River Murray Prescribed Watercourse.
