It is critical that the region’s community has a clear vision for the future of its natural resources and has a plan that will show how to achieve that vision.
A Draft South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Plan (the draft regional NRM plan) has been developed by the community with support from the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resources Management Board (SA MDB NRM Board). The draft regional NRM plan sets out a Vision for all Natural Resources Management in the region with supporting strategies and actions that need to be achieved over the next 10 years.
The draft regional NRM plan is now available for comment. Your feedback is important to the Board and to the successful management of the region’s natural resources. The draft regional NRM plan will be available for comment until Friday the 6th of February. Copies of the draft regional NRM plan can be downloaded or a CD can be posted to you or picked up from one of the following SA MDB NRM Board locations:

The SA MDB NRM Region As of 1 July 2009, the boundaries of the SA MDB NRM Region will be amended so that the southern boundary of the Region aligns with the southern boundary of the Southern Mallee District Council and the areas of the District Council of Peterborough and the Northern Areas Council are removed to be wholly within the Northern and Yorke NRM Region.
